Forest Lake Area High School serves students in grades 10-12 by providing a comprehensive and dynamic education for all students and by a mission of preparing students for college. The high school provides a challenging and relevant education for all students. Students take courses in any number of our 15 different academic departments, exploring career options and preparing for their next steps following graduation. Students at Forest Lake Area High School consistently score at or above their peers on state and national exams.
A highly qualified, experienced, and innovative staff offer classes for every student. We offer a large advanced academic program through our Advanced Placement and concurrent enrollment courses that offer college credit. Through our Ranger U program, students are able to chose from over 35 different advanced classes that have the potential of earning college credit. Our fine arts program offers a full complement of orchestral, band, and choral classes for the beginning and the advanced music student. Additionally, we offer a five-year world language program in Spanish,French and Chinese. Students interested in career and technical fields can choose from agriculture, industrial technology, business, family and consumer science, and occupational relations courses.
The high school academic program is augmented by an outstanding co-curricular program. Our sports programs are rooted in a tradition of excellence and our students continue to compete with the best athletes in the state. In addition to our athletic program, our theater, speech, and debate programs are highly regarded and provide an excellent opportunity for students to demonstrate and enhance their skills.
