Registration for Current 8th Graders

Registration is an important process. For students who take time to read, plan, and reflect, it can help them formulate a plan into their future career. To support this process, students are encouraged to utilize the resources found in the Digital Folder. If you have questions after reviewing this process, please reach out to Mrs. Brittni Miller. 

To prepare for registration, all current 8th grade students should work with their Ranger Connect teachers and their families to complete the following steps:

 

Review

Use the Course Catalog and Career Pathway Guide to investigate courses you would like to take.

 

Select

Choose your Required Courses and Electives. Don't forget Alternates! Record your selections on the Course Selection Worksheet.

 

Submit

Review with your parents/guardians and submit your selections on the Google Form by the deadline: January 28th.

Important Dates

  • January 7th: High school Deans visit the Middle School to deliver materials and information.
  • January 7th - 28th: Students and families explore interests and plan out courses and alternates for next year.
  • January 21st FLAHS Show Case 4pm-8pm:  Designed to give families and students a living snapshot of each department, what students learn, how they learn it, and where it can lead. Rather than a sit-and-get event, families will walk through each department and experience learning in action. This event is designed to celebrate learning, opportunity, and possibility while providing families with an overview of the programs and experiences offered at our high school.
    • Visit your Ranger Connect teacher if you have further questions
    • Stop in and see your Dean if you have questions for them
  • January 21st @ 6:30pm: Parent Information Session in the high school auditorium - Slides from The Meeting will be added after 1/21 
  • January 27th: Registration Night 4-8pm Student services team will be available in the Media Center to answer any final questions regarding registration. Note: Classroom teachers will not be available this evening. 
  • 28th: Final day to submit Google Form.
