Unexcused Absences

LIST OF UNEXCUSED ABSENCES

The following are some examples of unacceptable reasons for absence/tardiness:

1. Car trouble
2. Over slept; alarm did not work
3. Shopping, hair and nail appointments
4. Needed at home
5. Family vacation (not prearranged)
6. Leaving school during regular school day without the proper approval
7. Babysitting
8. Missed bus; no ride to school
9. Work
10. No call or note from the parent/guardian verifying the absence
11. Personal or Appointment (no reason given)
12. Truancy (absent without the consent of his/her parent or guardian)
13. Other absences as determined on a case-by-case basis
