Commencement

Purchasing of your Graduation Cap & Gown is now open through your StudentVUE/ParentVUE account or through Activity Registration & Payments

Seniors may also pay by bringing $40 cash or a check made out to FLHS to Amber in the Front Office.
**Please enclose payment in an envelope that clearly states the senior's Full Name and Student ID** 

Due to garment dye variations from year to year, ALL GRADUATES must purchase a graduation cap and gown for the commencement ceremony. The fee may be fully refunded upon returning the cap and gown after graduation. The tassel may be kept as a keepsake at no charge.


TICKETS

Tickets will be distributed with the caps, gowns, and tassels on Wednesday, June 5th following graduation rehearsal. 

The decision will be announced by 2:00pm on Thursday, June 6th, whether the ceremony will be held outdoors at Ranger Stadium or indoors in the high school Gymnasium

Gates/Doors will open at 6:15pm

A live-stream of the ceremony will be available on the homepage of the high school website

*Blended families are a situation in which the biological mom and biological dad are not living together. If mom and dad are not living at the same home address, the student will receive 8 tickets for the commencement ceremony in Ranger Stadium, and 6 tickets if held indoors in the Gymnasium

 

OUTDOOR CEREMONY - Ranger Stadium. Students will be issued a total of 4 tickets (*8 tickets for blended families) 

Ranger Stadium's home bleachers require a ticket. Non-ticketed guests may sit on the visiting side or around the field fence

INDOOR CEREMONY (due to inclement weather) - Forest Lake High School Gymnasium. Due to seating restrictions, each family will be allowed 3 ticketed guests (*6 for blended families)

There will be additional seating for non-ticketed guests in the Auditorium, Media Center, and Cafeteria, where there will be a live-stream of the ceremony

AUDIENCE BEHAVIOR:

Students are asked to remind families and friends that extended applause or shouting interferes with the reading and understanding of the next graduate’s name. Please consider the significance of the moment for other families. This cooperation is greatly appreciated.


STUDENT CONDUCT:
Commencement is a dignified ceremony that honors the graduates. Students are expected to demonstrate respect for the occasion and their classmates. Students that fail to comply and choose to participate in ANY undignified or disrespectful behavior during practice or the ceremony will not be able to participate.

CLOTHING:
Students participating in Commencement are required to wear the maroon cap and gown. If circumstances dictate that a student must deviate from this practice, they should confer with school administration. In addition, students must dress appropriately. For males, this includes dress slacks, dress shirt and dress shoes. For females, this includes a dress, or slacks and dress shirt, and dress shoes. Students cannot decorate their caps and gowns or carry/wear flowers.

PICTURES:
A professional photographer will take an individual photo of each graduate during the Commencement ceremony. Graduates may purchase pictures from Lifetouch. Lifetouch will mail students an order form with picture proofs after the ceremony to purchase photos.

DIPLOMAS:
Students will receive their diploma cover on the night of Commencement. The official diploma will be available to pick up at the high school mid-June, after all credits, grades and other records have been processed. The diploma pick-up dates will be shared at a later time via email.

A live-steam of the ceremony will be linked on the homepage of the High School website on the day of graduation.

 RAIN/INCLEMENT WEATHER:
Graduation exercises will be held outdoors in the stadium. In the event that poor weather prevents an outdoor ceremony, Commencement will be moved indoors to the Forest Lake Area High School Main Gymnasium. A live-stream of the ceremony will be available in the auditorium, media center, and cafeteria. If there is threatening weather, the decision about the location will be made by 2:00 PM on graduation day. This information will be posted on our high school website.

COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY:
5:00-6:00pm    Arrive at Splitrocks in Wyoming for shuttle bus to High School  (5063 273rd St Wyoming, Mn, 55092)
6:00pm            Meet Ranger Connect teacher to line up and receive name card
6:40pm            Line up and ready to proceed


* No pets or coolers are allowed at the ceremony.

TBD - Senior Meeting with Rehearsal and Cap and Gown Distribution

  • Meet in the auditorium for a brief overview of the graduation ceremony
  • Rehearsal, followed by cap and gown distribution
  • Senior Picnic at Ranger Stadium
    *Students may not reenter the building after cap and gown distribution, unless they are working on a class or are having an issue with their cap and gown
  • Seniors on the Hold List are in class finishing up
  • 12:00-3:30pm - We will have staff available in the media center to help with any gown issues 
  • 5:15pm - Shuttles begin from SplitRocks for students who are planning to attend the All Night Party
  • 6:15pm - Gates open at Ranger Stadium
  • 6:00 - 6:30pm- Students should arrive in the fieldhouse and find their Ranger Connect teacher
  • 6:40pm - Seniors will be lined up with their Ranger Connect class
  • 7:00pm Commencement Ceremony 
     
  • The announcement will be made no later than 2:00pm via email, Facebook, and the school website 
  • 6:15pm - Doors will open to the Main Gym
  • 6:00-6:15pm - Students should arrive at school and find their Ranger Connect teacher
  • 7:00pm - Ceremony
