Independent Forest Lake Area Scholarships

Independent Scholarship Applications 

All 2024-2025 Scholarships are posted on Xello. Below is for reference, but specifics and applications will be found through Xello.

  • American Legion Auxiliary

    • The local Legion Auxiliary offers two $500 scholarships to graduating seniors who are planning to attend college or a vocational-technical institution.

  • Cedar-East Bethel Lions

    $500 awarded to the student with the best essay.

    Please write a short (1 page) essay about what community service means to you and what you do in your life to make the community in which you live a better place, especially for others.

    Also, include your college/trade school plans for the 2023-2024 school year and what the academic activities, hobbies and sports you are currently a part of. 

  • Columbus Lions

    • To encourage students to be involved in service, the Lions offer scholarships to deserving students of Forest Lake High School who are either Columbus city residents or Columbus Elementary alumni. Eligibility is based on academic achievement and community service. While based on academics, the student does not need to have an "A" standing. The Lions will emphasize community service over all else, as they are looking for a student who is dedicated to their community either through organizations or individual efforts. 2 $500 Scholarships will be given out this year.
  • Family Pathways Scholarship

    • This scholarship seeks to amplify the voices of Black students in our communities through the possibilities of education.
    • Candidate must:  • Live or attend school in Family Pathways service area which includes the Counties of Chisago, Pine, Mille Lacs, Carlton, Isanti, Kanabec in Minnesota and the City of Forest Lake; as well as Polk County in Wisconsin.  •Identify as a Black or African American student  • Be currently enrolled or will be enrolling in 1st year post-secondary school for the upcoming academic year
  • Forest Lake Athletic Association (FLAAA)

    • The Forest Lake Area Athletic Association (FLAAA) has up to 10 - $1000 scholarships to be awarded to graduating Seniors. Criteria for the scholarship are based on athletic, academic and community involvement.

      • To qualify for a $1000 scholarship, the application must:

        • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 from grade 10 through the first semester/quarter of grade 12.

        • Have participated in a FLAAA sport(s) for at least four seasons (traveling baseball, traveling basketball, traveling fastpitch, traveling hockey (prior to 2019), traveling soccer (prior to 2011), traveling volleyball, in-house modified pitch softball, in-house football and lacrosse).

        • Currently live within the borders of the Independent School District 831. • Attending a college, university or technical school after completing your senior year of high school.

  • Forest Lake Baseball

    • Given to a student who has participated in FLBA for a minimum of 3 years, has been involved in their community and describes how baseball has impacted their life. 

  • Forest Lake Hockey Association

    • The Forest Lake Hockey Association is offering two $500 scholarships.  One male and one female student who have been members of the Forest Lake Hockey Association for at least four years from the Squirt/10U level and up will be awarded scholarships. Other criteria for the scholarship are academics, good citizenship, community involvement, and residency of the ISD #831 school district.

  • Forest Lake Area Fastpitch Association

    • The Forest Lake Area Fastpitch Association (FLAFA) is offering up to two $500 scholarships to seniors graduating from FLHS this spring. To qualify for this scholarship, the applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, have participated in FLAFA for at least four seasons of fastpitch, live within the borders of ISD #831, and playing college or university fastpitch after high school. 

  • Forest Lake Area Music Boosters

    • Three $1,000 scholarships are available to high school seniors who have participated in music during high school and plan to continue with music in some way while pursuing post-secondary education. 

  • Forest Lake Association of Professional Office Personnel

    • One $500 scholarship is available to graduating seniors who wish to further their education at a college, university, business or vocational-technical institution. The award is based on financial need, academics and participation in school and community activities. 

  • Forest Lake Lions

    • “We Serve” is the motto of the Forest Lake Lions. To encourage and reward community service the Lions offer up to 10 $1000 scholarships to graduating seniors in the Forest Lake School District. We seek applicants who have demonstrated a history of serving others. Your service can be through a school or private organization or by your own individual efforts. Note that hours of service on Lion’s projects, will be especially considered. We require that you use the Lions Scholarship Application Form which is linked above. 

  • Forest Lake Masonic Lodge

    • The Forest Lake Masonic Lodge #344 is offering three $1000 scholarships to three Forest Lake Area High School graduates. Eligibility will be based on academic achievement, involvement in community and school activities, as well as Masonic affiliation. This award will be used to further education at a college, community college, or technical school of your choice. 

  • Hugo Lions

    • $1,000 scholarships and $500 scholarships specific to trade/2 year schools are offered to qualified applicants based on the decision of the selection committee. Awards will be made to students planning to attend college, tech, or trade school. Applicants must be current graduating seniors in any high school, public or private, and MUST BE a resident of the City of Hugo. 
  • Hugo American Legion

    • The Hugo American Legion Post 620, Legionnaires and Auxiliary, offer non-renewable scholarships each year to students graduating from high schools representing our community. We will award a $500-$1000 scholarship depending on total fundraising over the year. 
  • Lino Lakes STEM Elementary PTO

    • The Lino Lakes Parent Teacher Organization will award a scholarship to a graduating senior of Forest Lake High School who previously attended Lino Lakes Elementary STEM School.  The student must plan to attend an accredited institution to further his/her education. 

  • New Creations Childcare

    • One $500 Scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior with a desire and drive to become and Early Education teacher or Elementary Teacher. The candidate selected must have a record of volunteerism in the community at non school sponsored activities, especially in educating, mentoring, and/or encouraging your minds. They will also have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and plan to attend a 2 or 4 year college or technical school. 

  • Regal Machine

    • Regal Machine, Inc., of Wyoming, MN is offering one scholarship to a student pursuing post-secondary education in the area of machining, mechanical engineering, or a similar area.
  • Ronnie Gamble - Football

    • The Forest Lake Football Booster Club is proud to be able to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits in memory of former coach Ronnie Gamble.  This scholarship is available to Forest Lake High School Seniors that have participated in high school football.   A scholarship is awarded to the senior athlete(s) who best exemplifies effort, dedication, commitment, and spirit regardless of position on the team. It recognizes the athlete(s) who the team could count on to give his best effort at practice, pitch in to help with team needs, encourage teammates to excel, but was not necessarily the star of the team or even a starter. 

  • Scandia-Marine Lions

    • The Scandia-Marine Lions Club offers non-renewable scholarships each year to a graduating senior who resides in the Scandia-Marine, attended Scandia Elementary School or Marine Elementary School, or a high school senior who resides in the Scandia area and has been home schooled or resides in the Scandia area and attends a private/public charter school and has been accepted at a college or technical school. The award is based on scholastic achievement, financial need, and service to others. 

  • Tozer Scholarship

    • Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

      • Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

      • Be a high school senior or a current undergraduate student with at least one semester of undergraduate study completed within four years of your high school graduation.
      • Be a resident of or attended high school in Kanabec, Pine, or Washington Counties in Minnesota.
      • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year.
      • *Renewal recipients may renew their scholarship for a total of four school years.

      • FINANCIAL GUIDELINES FOR FIRST-TIME APPLICANTS

      • Community College - 20,000

      • State College/University - 27,000

  • Vietnam Veterans

    • Any 12th grade student who is on track to graduate in the Spring of 2024 is eligible to write an essay on the essay topic given each year. 

  • Wyoming Elementary PTA

    • The Wyoming Elementary School Parent Teacher Association will be awarding a scholarship to a graduating senior of Forest Lake High School who previously attended Wyoming Elementary School.  Qualified applicants will have a strong background in community service. 

  • Wyoming Lions

    • Two $500 non-renewable scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors who are residents of Wyoming.  The award is based on academic achievement and participation in school and community activities.
